Job Description

Public Safety Dispatcher, regular full- and part-time

Dispatch work with special emphasis on contact with the general public. Receive and dispatch radio transmissions over communication network and operate a variety of specialized communication equipment. Receive calls for information and emergency services (police, fire and EMS services). Maintain all records related to communcation system and perform related assignments as required. Work independently or under general supervision. Must be physically capable of performing essential functions of this position.

Education/Qualification Required

** Excellent listening comprehension skills. Clear, calm voice and manner of speaking, plus tact and courtesy.
** Ability to follow complex directions. Ability to work efficiently in confined quarters, and in stressful and emergency situations.
** Ability to maintain records, files, logs, etc. Proficiency in typing desirable. Previous experience and/or training in the operation of personal computers highly desirable.

Salary

Entry rate dependent upon applicatn's related experience, knowledge and abilities.

** Full-time: range $19.69 to $25.22/hr. Benefits include medical, life, State of Ohio retirement plan, paid holiday, vacation and sick leave.
** Part-time: range $19.69 to $25.22. Benefits include paid holiday, vacation and sick leave.
