Job Description

Electrical Designer, entry-level co-op/internship
Alternating co-op/internship preferring 40 hours per week

Assist Level II, III or IV Engineer with development of design drawings.

** Develop preliminary sketches or schematics, layouts, details and/or drawings.
** Assist with the design and modification drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
** Understand voltages utilized and typical electrical principals used in design.
** Use established procedures, this level is responsible for construction drawing setup and creation in AutoCAD including all electrical systems layout and connections. Typical systems designed at this level are lighting, power outlets and other devices, electrical distribution and emergency generation systems, fire alarm, and life safety systems.
** Understand branch circuiting and panel schedule creation.
** Responsible for translating technical guidance received into usable data applicable to the particular assignments.


Education/Qualification Required

** Understand drafting standards, AutoCAD drawing files, views, manipulation of working drawings, layering, lisp routines, and menus.
** Understand office functions such as the Sign In/Sign Out, etc.
** Ability to establish priorities and proceed with assignments without supervision.
** Ability to handle and resolve recurring issues.
** Meet assigned deadlines.
** Keep accurate records of billable time to be entered into the timesheet program

... Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and Outlook
... Associates degree with courses in electrical engineering or
... Two years related experience or
... Equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements: Willing to work overtime and weekends as requested. Willing to travel and perform field surveys.
