Prefer 40 hours per week but will adjust to 30-35 to work around student's class schedule.
Responsible for the preparation of detailed, accurate, clear and complete drawings from rough or detailed engineering sketches by performing the following duties.
** Design new models, mechanisms and adaptations for limited line of
products following directions and suggestions of supervisor or
engineer.
** Investigates alterations to design for improved performance.
** Prepare layout drawings.
** Responsible for correctness of proportions, consideration of stresses,
speeds, weight, form, fit and function.
** Change design to meet shop requests; may make alterations when in
process to facilitate manufacturing.
** Responsible for accuracy of all drawings generated.
** Draw up lists (BOM's) to release for structuring of orders.
** Make drawing revisions as necessary or assigned to maintain accuracy of
drawing database.
** contribute ideas for new products/modifications.
** Other responsibilities as assigned.
The employer is using Inventor 2008 and will update to 2009 version soon. The student does not need to know Inventor but must be comfortable with 3-D CADD.
