Job Description

Junior Facilities Mechanical / HVAC Designer
Prefer co-op/intern student work 40 hr/wk for summer

** Work mainly with lead designer to produce drawings from mark-ups, sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
** Occasional interface with engineers and other team memebers to receive input, clarification, and other relevant technical information.
** Calaulate tolerance stack-ups to verify design fit-up.
** Coorindate with all disciplines to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
** Use national and local codes as guidelines.

** Basic knowledge and experience in ductwork layouts, design, and fabrication with a familiarity with piping design.
** Basic knowledge and experience in mechanical room layouts.
** Basic knowledge and familiarity, with an interest in gaining proficient knowledge, of the following equipment / components (air handlers, VAV terminals, dampers, diffusers, etc.)

Education/Qualification Required

.. Prefer Junior or Senior student status.
.. Must be able to read, interpret, and use applicable standards, specifications, and customer-supplied documentation.
.. Understanding of Architectural/Building Design and Layout.
.. Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
.. Able to receive and transmit drawings electronically with or without translation into customer CAD software.
.. Computer literate in AutoCAD 2007 and MS Office Suite Programs (Excel, Word).
.. Minimal experience in drawing/designing, 1-3 years.
.. Must be able to contribute in design reviews.
.. Self-starter, team player, communication skills.
