Job Description

Junior Facilities Electrical Designer
Prefer co-op/intern work 40 hrs/wk summer

** Work mainly with lead designers, engineers, or team leaders to produce drawings from mark-ups, sketches, existing drrawings and electronic images.
** Occasional interface with engineers and other team members to receive input, clarification, and other relevant technical information.
** Coordinate with all disciplines to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
** Use national and local codes as guidelines.

** Basic knowledge and understanding of equipment components such as switch gears, sub-stations, MCC's, panels, transformers, disconnects, motor, etc.
** Basic knowledge/experience in single line design; interior lighting design; fire alarm design; motor controls.
** Basic knowledge of data communications a plus.

Education/Qualification Required

.. Prefer junior or senior status
.. Must be able to read, interpret, and use applicable standards, specifications, and customer-supplied documentation.
.. Understand Architectural/Building Design and Layout.
.. Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
.. Able to receive and transmit drawings electronically with or without translation into customer CAD software.
.. Computer literate in AutoCAD 2007 and MS Office Suite programs (Word/Excel).
.. Must be able to contribute in design reviews.
.. Self-starter, team player, communication skills.
